The Master course in Linguistics sets out to give wide-ranging skills pertaining to linguistic competence and to natural languages. Students will be therefore lead to a gradual improvement of their knowledge in the field of linguistics by means of direct access to bibliographical sources. A special attention is paid to the development of independent judgment as to reconstruction of pre-historical stages as well as to philological/linguistic analysis of texts pertaining to whatsoever age, from ancient times up to contemporary stages. The courses will also provide students with a knowledge ranging from language contact and sociolinguistics to phonetics and language diseases – e.g. aphasia.
